2:38pm on a Monday afternoon & I have not been to bed. Asleep, yes, bed, no. My Sunday night goal was to be in bed at least by 11:30pm (haven't been to bed that early since High School). Intention was to get at least 7 hours of restful sleep, arise at 6:30am, ready to go. This was supposed to be the start of my new health kick, for the rest of 2017. Well, it did not go exactly as planned.

I've often said that Summer TV viewing in the USA is dead. Unless you are a fanatical sports fan, there is not much to see. I am no longer a sports fanatic. If it's Tennis or Rugby, I'm fine. The only thing worth watching was the final 3rd season episode of "Grantchester", on PBS. While waiting for the sheets to finish in the dryer, decided to get out the earphones & listen to music & watch YouTube videos on my iPhone. At about 11:15pm, remember thinking that the sheets should be done, get up, shut off the dryer, fold the sheets & go to bed.

Next thing I know, iPhone alarm is going off ( wake-up music: "Rise Up", by Andra Day ). Horrible cramps in both legs, worsening lower back pain & ears hurting from the earphones. And, I had picked the worse chair in which to fall asleep. Got my 7 hours of sleep, but, it was not a good 7 hours. I could have lain down in the middle of a concrete highway & not feel this bad. Gave me an excuse to not do anything on my schedule. After a bath, feel somewhat better. Entire morning was a waste.

Two closets on my agenda to clean out. Needed one of them to stash last December's Christmas Tree (first time I've ever used a non-live tree). Yes, the 12/25/16 tree is still up, with presents under it. Just. Don't. Ask! Decided I should turn off my Computer - been on for 3 days. Got side-tracked by a YouTube video, of the Dixie Chicks with Beyoncé & her Band, performing "Daddy Lessons", off her Lemonade CD. It was the CMA's (Country Music). This was one of the most stunning performances I have ever seen on the CMA. I saw this when it was originally telecast & have watched several times since. Re-watching it this afternoon was uplifting to my soul. And, I need bit of uplifting, right about now. Especially with that abomination now occupying the White House. Reason for the video at top of this post.
