No pop-ups or ads. I almost did a happy dance. Undertook to "Refresh" my computer at 7:22pm, Wed. evening (2/4); did not finish until 7:14am, Thursday morning, 2/5! Kid you not.
I don't know if it was just me & my lack of computer tech skills, but, I refuse to believe that is normal. Besides having to wait 2 hours for Windows 8.1 to reinstall, it took almost 2 hours to update 128 apps. Which was being done automatically by my computer. iTunes was a breeze to reinstall - still missing the bulk of my library of songs. And, there are still a bunch of things I have to reinstall, like Adobe (do I really need Adobe? Guess I do).
There was supposed to be something on my Desktop with a list of all the things I needed to reinstall; I can't find it. As I was Refreshing my computer, a list popped up of all the things I needed to reinstall (Adobe was on the list); I started to write them down, but, there were more then 50 items, so I quit writing. Trusting that the file would be there. If it is, it's very well hidden!
Was prepared to do my taxes (Federal w/ TurboTax & State w/ De.gov), bright and early this morning; well, that didn't happen. TurboTax halted processing all filings for 24 hours, due to a spike in fraudulent filings. And, the states are also investigating, as they use the same software for state tax filings as TurboTax. Will try again later tonight, or early Saturday morning. I really do not want to have to file by paper.
Now off to reinstall Adobe & other stuff.
