Alright, I really was about to give up cooking, after the last few debacles. But, Sunday is Easter & I thought, what the heck, might as well go all out.
Some of the things that I've recently tried to cook were: Whole Wheat Cinnamon Raisin Bread - it didn't even bake in the Bread Machine!); Bacon, Carmelized Onion Cheeseburger (I burned the onions); Oven Fried Chicken - truly, without a doubt, one of the worst things I have ever tried to cook. No pictures, too gruesome to behold!
The things for which I do have photos (under the cut) are: Pasta-Crab-Pea Salad (not sure I will try again-crabmeat is expensive!); Rice Pudding - two attempts (2nd was even worse, slimey - ugh!); Dinner Rolls (looked & tasted ok - but, I did not want to eat anymore after day 1); Sugar-Cinnamon Doughnut Holes w/ Caramel Sauce (just one word "awful"; Cheddar Cheese Wafers (tasted like a paste of butter & raw flour).
The only thing edible was Roasted Fingerling Potatoes with Onions, Green Beans & Bacon; way too much bacon, but very good. That looks like it will be my go to dish.
I was not going to cook anymore - my expenditures at ShopRite, just for the month of March & the first 3 days of April, totals $701.74. Outrageous! I'm only one person. What a waste - that's the money for my Computer Desk. But, for Easter, decided to give it one more try.
