How, you say? Well, right now it is 9:45 PM & I should be enjoying a " Keb Mo " concert, at the Grand Opera House. Where? Oh, about a block down the street from my apartment building.
Instead, I am watching my 2nd consecutive episode of Doctor Who; season 2, episode 3 - " Love & Monsters ". Just finished watching episode 2 - " The Satan Pit ", one of my favorites. And, surprise, surprise - it's not on BBCA. It's being shown on Disney XD (DXDHD), one of the 800 channels for which I pay Comcast (exaggerating, slightly) & never watched. That is until about 2 weeks ago, I stopped on it because it was showing a Doctor Who episode. I really need to get rid of some of these channels I never watch - maybe I can cut my bill down to something more manageable , instead of the $186 a month I now pay!
Anyway, that is the fist time I have ever seen "New" Doctor Who on anything, but BBCA. This 4th of July Weekend, they will be showing 10 episodes of season 2, starting at 12 noon, episodes 1 through 10. Think I'll buy some Hazen Daas Ice Cream & make some fudge & do absolutely nothing but watch Doctor Who. Sounds like a good plan.
Speaking of the Keb Mo concert, I am really kicking myself on this one. He is one of my very favorite artists, of all time. About 4 years ago, I missed attending his concert, at the very same venue, due to illness. I vowed, if he ever returned, I would not miss him again. Well, I bought my ticket over 2 months ago, but, here I sit at home, watching Doctor Who. Feeling ill all day, entire right side was excruciatingly painful, making it hard to even walk & it's raining outside. At 4PM, figured I would take a short nap; woke up at 8:09 PM. The concert had already started, side was still painful, said what the heck & found Doctor Who on the DXHD Channel. Hoping for a 3rd chance to catch Keb Mo.
So, watching season 2 - ep. 3 - Love & Monsters. By the way, I confess that I have not been able to really watch Season 8 , with Peter Capaldi. Within the first 15 minutes of episode 1 of season 8, I lost interest. Keep telling myself I will try to catch up on season 8, before the start of season 9. Not making any promises.
While I'm watching Doctor Who, I'm attempting to make an " Elvis Presley Pound Cake ". Tried it once before, not a good attempt. But, you never know.
