Rcv'd my Geo. Michael: Live in London 2009 BluRay DVD last week. Decided I had some free time yesterday (Tuesday) at 4PM, why not watch my DVD. Now, I could just as easily watch this on my computer, but, I just knew George would look great on a 55 inch TV screen.

Plugged in the DVD, turned it on, inserted the disc. It lit up, so, I know it was working. And, it kept flashing HDMI & Play. I could see the time ticking by, but, there was no sound or video. Try to keep in mind that this is a DVD I purchased 9/15/10, 5 yrs. ago & had not used since that day; I bought a DVD of the movie, I Robot, which was the only BluRay DVD I had ever owned. It just so happened that this was the day the Cable guy came over to hook up my TV to a new HDMI cable I had purchased 6 yrs. before & I never used (that thing was expensive!).

BTW, I had also purchased a new TV the same day as the DVD. So, the Cable guy was kind enough to hook up not only my TV, but, also the BluRay DVD, plus a DVD/VCR I bought in 2006 & had never used, never even plugged in. Pathetic! I had also purchased 2 HDMI cables for the DVDs. He showed me how to switch from watching TV to watching a Video & how to switch back to TV mode. I wrote down his instructions, thinking, " I got this ".

Later same year, near Christmas I did use the DVD/VCR for the 1st time, when my sister came over; we watched The Christmas Show, the only Christmas episode The Andy Griffith Show ever did. Then my sister, who thinks she knows everything, got a VHS disc stuck in the DVD. Oh, I forgot to mention, I owned about a hundred (maybe more) VHS Videos, which I purchased before I even bought the DVD/VCR! Anyway, told her to never touch my things again, I could destroy stuff on my own, thank you very much.

So, looking at my notes from 2010, I soon realized that " I don't got this! ". No matter what buttons were pushed, could not get it to work & could not find the book that came with it. Finally, after 30 mins., I gave up on the DVD. Tried to switch back to TV mode, nothing worked. My frustration level was at an all-time high - it's not just the Blood Pressure Rxs causing my hair to fall out. After an entire hour fooling with that, just as I was ready to call my cable company, suddenly, the TV picture popped up. And the bad part is? I do not have any idea how I got back to TV mode.

Trying to convince myself that I will try again later today. But, really, I think I'll just offer one of my nephews $15 to come show me how to use the darn thing. And, after all that, found the Panasonic BluRay DVD Guide Book. At that juncture, I was just to tired to even read it.

Ended up eating 3 pieces of Pecan Marshmallow Fudge that I made Sunday night. Not my best effort, but, chocolate always helps. Right now, getting ready to watch Late Night With Seth Meyers - Adam Lambert will be performing. Then off to bed before 2 AM, which will be the 1st time I've gone to bed before 3 AM, in months. No wonder I can't lose any weight. I'm up all night eating!.
