Giving Up Baking??

Attempted to bake "Elvis Presley's Favorite Pound Cake" (found recipe on the Bing Food & Drink app on Windows 8). I think the fact I do not have a Stand Mixer (only a hand one) & did not have the correct type of Fluted Pan & my stove is electric, heavily contributed to my abject failure! Then again, the fact that I am the worst cook on the planet helped somewhat. But, I am happy to say that this is the only cake that I've baked, that I have ever been able to eat! It's not bad - O K to eat as a breakfast cake with coffee or with Jam or Preserves. I would not be brave enough to serve to company (unless it was someone whose health I did not care about).

So, am I really going to give up trying to cook or bake? Talk to me in another month.
