For someone acknowledged as a "bad cook", no, make that an "awful cook", why have I purchased three (3) sets of cookware since July 2013!
Now, I was about to buy a Bread Machine, red, just because I love the smell of bread baking. Only reason I did not buy it this week is due to the fact a prescription my Doctor ordered, even after my Rx Drug Program has paid, will still leave me with an out-of-pocket co-pay of $92. Outrageous! I originally told the Pharmacist to cancel the Rx, but, just so happened that a day later, my allergic rash started to really act up. So, I told the Pharmacy to go ahead & order it. Goodbye Bread Machine, for now.
Back to the Cookware. First set, purchased July 2013 - 10 piece Cooks Essential, red. I love red. Although, lately, have become slightly bored with the color. Only used two pieces of the cookware. Second set, just flipping through TV channels one day, stopped on QVC; they had a lovely 10 pc. Emeril Lagasse set for sale. Black, although actually looks Dark Grey, with glass tops, rimmed in stainless steel. Bought them July 30, 2014; also, separately purchased a fantastic round grill pan & cast iron pizza pan/griddle. I must say the round grill pan cooks bacon & roasts potatoes wonderfully. So, other then the grill pan, I've only used 1 small saucepan of the 10 pc. set. Third set - ashamed to say, purchased 10 days ago! Stainless steel, Wolfgang Puck brand, 13 piece set, with 5 pc. utensil set. I really love this cookware set - the name of each piece is stenciled on the bottom of each pan. I've never seen that before. Wolfgang, you have just become my new best friend.
What happened to the two previous sets of cookware? Well, a friend happened to call one early evening in August & mentioned she had just purchased 1 piece of new cookware, color, red. I had originally intended to give the Cooks Essential set to a younger sister, but, on the spur of the moment, offered it to my friend; of course, she tried to talk of paying me, but, I would not hear it. I was happy to get it off my kitchen counter. And, she was grateful to get it (she & her husband came over that very evening to pick them up). I even told my sister she missed out on a practically new set of cookware. Sorry younger sister, you should have called earlier!
So, I was back down to just the 1 set of cookware, until earlier this month, I came across the Wolfgang Puck set on HSN. Just had to have it. It came this past weekend, I did not take it out of the box until this past Tuesday (10/22) - it looks beautiful. I have most of the pans sitting on top of my burners on my stove. The rest, on the counter next to the stove. Now I am wishing I had a stainless steel stove (I have all black appliances). Back to having 2 sets of cookware, again. This time, I will call this sister & let her know she can come get the practically new cookware purchased 3 months ago. Although, I am keeping the cast iron pizza pan & the round grill pan (if I ever find a stainless grill pan that is similar, I will give her the one I'm keeping).
My current set of cookware looks so beautiful, I don't even want to use it. I do know several things; #1 - I need to quit watching QVC & HSN & #2 - I need some serious Mental Health Counseling. Soon!
