I am literally banging my head on the desk, to keep from tossing my computer out the window!
I was trying to update the Apple Application Support software, which the "Refresh " stated I had to reinstall (it said iTunes requires it), when in the middle of the download, several other things popped up; Google Chrome started to download as well, a long with some other software (Binikirk???) - I do not want Google Chrome. I stopped it, but, the box would not leave my screen or desktop taskbar. So, I shut off my computer. Waited 5 mins., turned it back on & signed in ok. But, the start screen would not come up - everything is black.
Only reason I'm here & am able to be on my journal is due to the fact that in the bottom right corner of the black screen a little box came up & asked if I wanted to upgrade to System Mechanics 14.5 (MicroTrend); I clicked on "more information " & it brought up the webpage. Other ads started to pop up, just like old times. Which enabled me to click on my Verizon Yahoo home page. Pop-ups & Ads are starting all over again!
The Start & Desktop screens are still totally black. Think it's time to go and read the " Trouble Shooting " & " Support " sections of the Manual. Afraid to turn the darn thing off - I may not be able to get back here. What else can happen?
