Well, I watched the Grammy Awards (some of it) Sunday night. And all I can say is, Sam Smith was robbed of Album of The Year! Beck, are they really & truly serious? It does not make any logical sense. Sure, he won 4 other awards, but, not Album of The Year - how is that possible?
This is one of the reasons I did not watch the Grammys for 25 years. Only started to watch again in 2012, because of Adele. Did not watch in 2013 or 2014. After Sunday night, may not watch again for another 25 years.
Who wants to see Mary J. Blige duet with Sam Smith on Stay With Me? Not me. I wanted to hear just Sam. But, Sam was wonderful, as always. And, Annie Lennox, what a voice! That women still has it. One of the funniest moments (& I don't usually find him funny) was Kanye West going up on the stage to take the mic from Beck (Taylor Swift redux) & changing his mind. Jay Z was horrified. Of course leave it to Kanye to get it wrong - he should have been upset for Sam Smith (not Beyoncé). John Legend & Common's performance of Glory was beautiful. Also, I adore Ed Sheeran.
All in all, not too bad a show. At least, the parts I did see. I am glad I did not fully forgo watching The Great British Cooking Show & Grantchester, on PBS. At least my entire Sunday was not ruined.
