Well, I took my Christmas Tree down this afternoon. It is now enclosed in a giant plastic bag, by my front door, waiting to be taken down to the dumpster in the basement. I can't say for sure that there may or may not be a stray ornament or string of lights still hidden in the branches. At this point, whatever! Just letting go of the stress.

Still wondering why I even ordered a tree this year. Beginning of December, I was ill & really did not feel like putting up a tree or even had the strength to do so. But, I just had to keep up my "tradition" & get a real tree; I've done so for the last nine years I have been in this apartment (the first apt. big enough to hold a full-sized, real live tree).

Let me tell you, it is no fun trying to get a 5 foot tree to stand up straight in the tree stand & tighten the screws into the branches, without it falling over. Extremely hard to do when you have a sudden major flare-up of Carpel Tunnel pain & swelling in both wrists. Plus, both elbows. Family Doctor referred me to an orthopaedic specialist & for xrays & an EMG. Who knew it would take so long to get an EMG - called 12/7/15 - earliest it could be scheduled was 01/15/16!

Problems did not stop there; both knees started to pain, something awful. Also, my dreaded Ezcema decided to get worst; emergency visit to the Dermatologist, ended up with some nice steroids (Prednisone) & a weeks worth of 2 a day antibiotic pills to fight infection. It is finally sinking in just how serious & frightening Ezcema can be.

My medical problems actually are nothing to speak of when I think about my 44 year old niece that died December 7, 2015 & my brother-in-law who just died this past Saturday. Feeling down at the moment. But, I really am quite fortunate and blessed.

And, I really don't care about the two long streaks of tree sap on the wall, where the tree kept falling over; I will scrub the wall eventually. Right now, it's just not that important, when you think about it. Also, glad I kept my wrapped packages from last year - was able to use my same ornaments from 2014.

Under the cut, couple of pictures of my tree; Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the only thing on the tree was a crooked silver star at the top. Did not start to put any lights on the tree until 2 days after Christmas. Ornaments went on the tree, bit by bit, finally finished decorating on Jan. 6, 2016. To celebrate, I made a cake. Easy cake - box of yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding (was supposed to be Lemon flavor), lemon extract, eggs, veg. oil, orange juice. Finished it with an orange-sugar-butter glaze. Fourth time I've made this cake & it usually turns out quite good. I also made Snicker-doodle Cookies - the less said about them, the better.
