Sometimes, I really dislike my country. Or, maybe it's just my fellow Americans I despise.
Have we not had enough of killing each other, yet? Orlando, Louisiana, Minnesota, now, Dallas. Does what happened in Dallas really surprise anyone? Shock, yes. Surprise, no, I think not. The USA probably has more hand guns & assault rifles owned by it's citizens, then the rest of the civilized world combined. And, Texas is an "open carry" state. So, it's quite common to see people walking around with their guns out in the open, slung over shoulders.
As the saying goes, we are so reaping what we have sowed. What other outcome do you expect, when the presumptive GOP presidential nominee spews racist, bigoted, homophobic, religious & misogynistic hatred, whenever he speaks. He has stated that he likes uneducated voters. He believes water boarding is not torture, so he has no problem with torture of captured enemy combatants; he would kill family members of suspected terrorists; he would carpet bomb entire villages, towns & cities in war. In his stunning ignorance, he does not know that these are war crimes, for which you can be prosecuted by the World Court.
So, my fellow Americans, stop with the hand wringing, in your all too soon to be forgotten grief; I don't want to hear about your prayers, flags flown at half staff or your moments of silence. Been there, done that. We have been too silent, too long. Somehow, somewhere, in all those moments of silence, the lunatic fringe has taken over our country.
