The Island of Puerto Rico is dying, the U S Virgin Islands are dying! These are American citizens. Did you even know that?
Yet, you spend your time in front an audience of your despicable base of supporters, demanding that NFL team owners fire football players exercising their constitutional right to peaceful protest. Which is an unlawful act on your part, coming from the Executive Branch of the U S Government. Did you know that? While you waste time on Twitter, Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York is doing the job of the President, seeing that Puerto Rico & the U S Virgin Islands are getting the help they need.
Feuding with NBA championship basketball players. And, in an even more disgraceful act, calling the Mothers of NFL players, Bitches!! We have citizens of every stripe calling you out. Leland Melvin, an African-American former Astronaut, who is also a former NFL player ( &, he's an author & musician, to boot) - he penned as open letter to you - read it. A young, Caucasian, country music, anthem singer at the Tenn. Titans/Seattle Seahawks game (Meghan Linsey), who took a knee at the end of the anthem (her guitarist took 2 knees) - you need to read her comments & reason for doing so (this child made me cry). Oh right, you don't read.
And, take a look at this gentleman; John Middlemas, a 97 year old WWII veteran, who took a knee, in support of the NFL players. Look at it, donald!
This was posted by his grandson, Brennan Gilmore, on his Facebook page. donald, you keep harping on the false fact that this is disrespecting the flag & our military & our country. Or, that they are not patriotic. This is not about disrespecting the flag, our military or the country. It never has been. As someone on another posting said, " a lot of the outrage is coming from people with absolutely no military affiliation. Using Veterans as their personal political chess pieces ". Well said.
My take, the flag is just a piece of cloth & the Star Spangled Banner is just a song ( one with racist content ). And, these NFL players & everyone supporting them, have more patriotism in their little finger, then you have in your entire body, you draft dodger! Explain, with your 5 bogus deferments, where you were, when the military called you for service in the 60s. And, what you said about serving your country during the Vietnam war. Disgraceful.
This is about the racial inequality faced by people of color in this country, every single day. It's about the murder of unarmed, defenseless African-American young black men in this country, by police officers who are never held accountable, time & time again. It's about an unequal justice system. Which, I might add, your racist Attorney General at this moment is undoing & dismantling the very guidelines & practices the Obama administration & his AG put into place to try & address these issues. Ultimately, this is about the inequality faced by every marginalized person in this country; people of color, LBGT people, Muslins, the disabled, the poor, women, Mexicans, immigrants - you have discriminated against & made despicable comments about each & everyone of us. On top of that, you are now trying to start a war with North Korea - just chumping at the bit to start a Nuclear War, to prove your so-called manhood. Lebron James called you a bum, too mild. You are really low-life scum & unfit to call yourself human.
I am not the most articulate of wordsmiths, but, have always been able to somewhat cogently & coherently put into words what I want to say. But, I confess, even I am having a hard time knowing what & how to express what I feel anymore.
